The use of ultrasound in the office adds a new dimension which allows Dr Thomas to both see and treat certain conditions with confidence. Ultrasound technology can be used to help diagnosis injury to muscle, tendon and ligament. These soft tissue injuries make up the majority of orthopaedic injuries. In addition it is a useful tool to allow ultrasound guidance for injections, so that Dr Thomas can pin point the exact area that he is looking for when office injections are necessary. This is also used in combination with Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) injections, which Dr Thomas also performs here in our office. Ultrasound gives real-time images that can show how your repaired rotator cuff or biceps tendon are healing, or make sure you haven’t damaged your surgical repair if you have a slip and fall.
